Six Key Steps

Pradhan Mantri Adi Adarsh Gram Yojana (PMVKY)
  • PMVKY aims to transform the infrastructure and basic services in 36,428 tribal-dominated villages by enhancing road and telecom connectivity, along with improving education, health services, and sanitation facilities.
Support for Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs):
  • Socio-economic Enhancement:
    • Dedicated to uplifting marginalized tribal communities, the scheme ensures socio-economic development while preserving cultural heritage.
    • The Pradhan Mantri PVTG Development Mission, part of this initiative, allocates Rs. 15,000 crore over three years to provide basic amenities such as secure housing, clean drinking water, and improved connectivity.
Strengthening Tribal Research:
  • Enhancement of Tribal Research Institutes (TRI):
    • This aspect focuses on supporting research and documentation related to tribal life, traditions, and challenges, through financial backing for projects proposed by state governments and Union Territories.

Educational Support Schemes:

  • Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarships:
    • These scholarships aim to support tribal students in grades IX and X, and beyond, ensuring that economic barriers do not impede their educational progress. Families with an income up to ₹2.50 lakhs are eligible.
Administrative Support:
  • Project Management Units:
    • PMVKY also facilitates the creation of project management units within state governments to ensure the effective implementation and monitoring of tribal welfare schemes.

    • The FCI Grievance Redressal System App is designed to streamline the process for rice millers to address their issues with the Food Corporation of India (FCI). This initiative is a part of the government’s broader strategy to leverage technology for effective governance.
  • Objective:
    • By integrating technology, the app aims to boost the responsiveness and accountability of the FCI, providing millers a direct and efficient means to report concerns, track progress, and receive feedback through a fully digital platform.
Key Features of the App:
  • User-Friendly Interface:
    • The app offers a straightforward, one-time registration process for millers, enabling them to submit grievances easily. Each complaint is assigned a Unique Grievance ID for better management and tracking.
  • Real-Time Updates:
    • Millers can track the status of their grievances in real-time, which enhances transparency and keeps them consistently informed about the progress.
  • Automated Processes for Swift Action:
    • Grievances are automatically routed to the appropriate Nodal Officers within FCI for necessary action, accelerating the resolution process. The app allows for quick investigations or feedback from relevant divisions.
  • Geo-Fencing for Enhanced Accountability:
    • For grievances requiring on-site visits, the app utilizes geo-fencing technology to verify and document the presence of Quick Response Teams at the specified locations, ensuring thorough and accountable grievance handling.
